MIYA Proxy Switcher Privacy Policy
Updated: October 7, 2026. This policy describes the Chrome edition of MIYA Proxy Switcher version 1.0.7, including its optional MIYA account integration. It supplements the MIYA website privacy policy.
Proxy configuration and traffic
The extension stores proxy lists, server addresses, usernames, passwords, exclusion lists and settings in its local Chrome extension storage. Credentials are supplied to the proxy server you select for authentication. When a proxy is active, traffic from your browser profile is routed through that provider according to your configuration and exclusions. The provider's privacy and security practices also apply. Authentication and transport security depend on the proxy protocol and provider you configure.
Optional MIYA account access
Signing in sends your email address and password to the HTTPS login API at miyaip.com. The account password is not written to extension storage. The resulting session token is stored locally and sent in Authorization headers to MIYA HTTPS APIs when retrieving your account profile, purchased proxy products and dedicated-line configuration. Profile information may include your name, email address, account balance and VIP level, and may be stored locally and displayed in Account.
MIYA product country/region, remarks and any reported exit IP come from the MIYA API responses and are kept separately from saved connection credentials. Shared gateway addresses are not treated as proof of an exit country. MIYA API requests follow the selected proxy and exclusions; MIYA is not automatically bypassed.
Connection tests and country information
Proxy tests and authentication warm-up requests contact api.ipify.org over HTTPS. These requests follow the selected proxy configuration and your exclusions. This service observes the connection's public exit IP and returns it to the extension. Excluding api.ipify.org makes these requests bypass that proxy, so the response cannot verify its connection.
Country lookups send literal configured proxy IP addresses without MIYA product metadata, and detected test exit IPs, to get.geojs.io over HTTPS. GeoJS requests automatically bypass this extension's proxy; GeoJS can observe the source public IP of that connection as well as the IP submitted for lookup. Country detection for proxy lists is enabled by default. Turning off “Detect the country for each proxy” disables automatic country lookups when lists are saved, loaded or imported; proxy tests still request country information for detected exit IPs. Successful country results are cached locally. Domain-name proxy addresses are skipped without an external DNS lookup. Lookup failure does not change a successful connection-test result. These lookups do not send account passwords or proxy passwords. See the ipify and GeoJS service information for their policies.
If you configure a proxy-list URL, the extension requests that URL to retrieve your list. Remote list imports require HTTPS, reject redirects and reject URLs with embedded login credentials before the hostname; supply the final HTTPS list URL directly. Its host automatically bypasses the selected proxy. That server sees the connection's source IP and any query parameters you include.
Browser controls and data cleanup
Local rules can block user-specified URL patterns. The extension sets DNT: 1 on requests matched by its header rules, including when no proxy is selected. User-Agent rewriting is optional and disabled by default. WebRTC protection is enabled by default and restricts non-proxied UDP; you can adjust it in Block settings.
Browsing-data cleanup uses Chrome's removal API for the categories and time range you select. Default Delete settings request removal of cookies, cache, local storage and IndexedDB across websites in your browser profile using a 24-hour lookback when applying a proxy. You can also trigger cleanup manually. The extension does not read or upload deleted cookie values, saved browser passwords, browsing-history records, page content or form contents as part of this cleanup.
Purpose and disclosure
MIYA Proxy Switcher complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
The extension saves an aggregate count of proxy applications in local extension storage. It handles proxy-test outcomes, elapsed times and detected IP/country results locally for display in the popup; country lookup results can also be cached locally. Proxy-control checks, connection status and sanitized browser error codes are processed locally for display. The counter, assembled test-result records and diagnostic status are not uploaded as telemetry. Connection-test requests to ipify and IP submissions to GeoJS still occur as described above.
Data handling supports proxy management, authentication, account access, connection testing and the browser controls described above. The extension does not transmit analytics or advertising telemetry. It does not sell user data or use it for advertising, unrelated purposes, creditworthiness or lending decisions. Disclosures to MIYA APIs, the selected proxy provider, ipify, GeoJS and your configured HTTPS list server occur only for the described functionality.
Storage and your controls
Extension configuration and credentials are retained in local Chrome storage until you remove or replace them or uninstall the extension. Signing out clears the saved MIYA session token, account profile, purchased-product cache and dedicated-line configuration. Previously saved proxy entries, their credentials, associated MIYA region metadata and country cache remain locally. Remove deletes the selected saved entry and its associated MIYA metadata; it does not delete purchased products or browsing history. Removing an active proxy first attempts to return to direct mode, and retains the entry if that fails. Removing from a URL-loaded list switches the remaining list to manual mode. Remove does not clear cached country lookup data. Chrome's local storage is not an encrypted password vault. Secure your device and browser profile, and avoid sharing them with people who should not access your configuration. You can disable country detection for proxy lists, select No proxy, edit or remove proxy entries, adjust Delete and WebRTC settings, sign out, or uninstall the extension.
